"Another UK band to get excited about. Despite
coming from East London, they have a West Coast hippie feel that
makes them sound like English cousins of the Tyde and Beachwood Sparks.
The mix of Byrds guitar, sixties style organ and
catchy tunes makes for a very pleasant 25 minutes. Best track by
far is "Year of the Monkee" where the odd vocal inflection brings
to mind Big Star.
I can definitely see them going down a
storm in the USA. Indeed, they've been invited to appear at the
2001 International Pop Overthrow and I wouldn't be surprised if
some enterprising American label like Not Lame snapped them up."
